Fair Hair Care to award the stamp of approval to hair brands with quality and transparent products

An organisation called Fair Hair Care has launched a campaign with the aim towards fairer hair extensions. The company is dedicated to putting transparency and quality at the heart of hair consumerism and is campaigning for over 500,000 signatures from consumers globally to challenge manufacturers and stockists who sell low-quality extensions at high prices.

Fair Hair Care will start by setting industry standards for manufacturers and hair companies who sell extensions globally. The organisations’ methodology and verification process have gone through consultation with scientists and specialists within the hair extension industry. The company intends to use the Fair Hair Care mark on products to reassure consumers that the product has been assessed and has met the criteria mark. Consumers can also go onto the Fair Hair Care website to find out how these brands have met the criteria.

Christina Adesina, co-founder of Fair Hair Care comments, “A growing band of consumers want good quality hair extensions, but prefer to buy from brands that are striving to have a positive impact on people and the planet. Transparency at the point of sale promotes informed choices. Each brand awarded the Fair Hair Care mark must meet stringent requirements such as demonstrating how they include transparency and longevity in hair extensions in their business model. All brands featured take great care of ethical sourcing, manufacturing and marketing.”

Fair Hair Care aims to redefine the hair extensions market as high-quality products and services that generally benefit all round. The stamp of approval will tell the brand’s sustainability story by revealing its ethical, and transparent efforts to consumers.

Adesina continues, “People are often blind when purchasing hair extensions and usually choose a brand based on false marketing messages or social influencers suggestions only to find the that the quality is not to be trusted. This is why Fair Hair Care not only grades hair extensions based on quality and longevity but also shows the ethical journey that the product has been through. Our goal is to help hair brands appeal to a wave of increasingly engaged consumers by highlighting which brands are Fair Hair Care approved with the help of our trusted body of advisors in the hair industry.”

Fair Hair Care hopes its community of brands will become industry leaders, showing other companies how to offer hair extensions in a transparent way.
